كوب، وهو لص ماهر يرتكب جرائم تجسس لصالح الشركات من خلال التسلل إلى العقل الباطن لأهدافه، يُعرض عليه فرصة استعادة حياته القديمة كدفعة لمهمة تعتبر مستحيلة: “البدء”، أي زرع فكرة شخص آخر في العقل الباطن للهدف.
